  • Kick-off meeting was organized in Ankara, Turkey

    My Peer Mentor Project kick-off meeting was held in Ankara on 19th and 20th October 2017. Partner organizations from Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania  attended this first transnational meeting and following main topics were addressed:

    - Administrative and financial management

    - Blended mobilities

    - Internal quality management

    - Youth peer mentors pedagogy framework

    - Mobile youth peer mentoring application

  • Information on launch of the European project My Peer Mentor at "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi

    On 3 November 2017 at "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi was launched the European project no. 2017-1-TR01-KA205-039752, entitled "Mobile youth peer mentoring application to facilitate distance mentoring guidance for youth with disabilities", acronym MyPeerMentor, within the Erasmus+ Programme - Strategic partnership. This event took place inthe TUIasi Rector's Conference Room where over 100 guests attended (team of P6 partner, students,local authorities and representatives of NGOs, youth training centers, schools, etc.).

     

    Prof. Dr. Chem. Margareta Gabriela CIOBANU, project manager from Romania,announced that the project was launched on October 18, 2017 at Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey, where the representatives of the six partners have met. Mrs. Ciobanu also presented the main objectives and action plan of the project which will run from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2019.

     

    This project aims to achieve a special and novel form of youth peer mentoring who can serve as a good practice example for people mentee among young people with physical disabilities. Target groups are: youth mentors, youth workers, youth career counselors. Beneficiaries from services are: youth with physical disabilities (aged 16 – 29), families of people with disabilities, non-formal settlements of people with disabilities, educations institutions (secondary, tertiary and VET levels).

  • My Peer Mentor project was presented during national conference on 20th November 2017

    MyPeerMentor project was presented by Zgura-M Ltd. during the national conference organised by National Agency for Vocational Education and Training (NAVET) on 20th November 2017 at Sofia, Bulgaria.

  • My Peer Mentor project objectives and activities were presented during face-to-face meeting with school psychologist and head teacher

    My Peer Mentor project objectives and activities were presented during face-to-face meeting with school psychologist and head teacher on 23th November 2017 in Ruse, Bulgaria.

  • Project activities and outputs were informally presented during the round table organized by Bulgarian Ministry of Education

    Intellectual outputs and related activities were informally presented during the round table organized by Ministry of Education on 28th November 2017 at Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

  • Early Intervention and Rehabilitation Symposium organized on 1st December 2017

    On December 1, 2017 “Early intervention and rehabilitation symposium in pediatrics” were organized at Gazi University Hospital on behalf of MYPEERMENTOR Project. More than 400 people (academicians, students and clinicians) attended to the symposium.

    Participants were informed about importance of early intervention in rehabilitation of pediatrics and MYPEERMENTOR Project

  • My Peer Mentor project disseminated at international congress with 900 Participants

    First International Turkish World Engineering and Science Congress held in Antalya on 7-10 December 2017. The introduction and dissemination of the project “My Peer Mentor” coordinated by Gazi University and cooperated by Osmaniye Provincial Directorate of National Education was realized.

     

    In this frame, It is also an important opportunity for the Project “My Peer Mentor” to be introduced and disseminated in the congress the participants of which are more than 900 participants from different countries.

  • Info-meeting for stakeholders organized in Osmaniye, Turkey

    On 15th of February 2018 Osmaniye İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü presented the EU Erasmus+ Strategic Youth Partnership Project  titled “Mobile youth peer mentoring application to facilitate distance mentoring guidance for youth with disabilities” at Osmaniye Teachers’ House Hall to 60  representatives of NGOs, local authorities, youth training centers and schools for 14-23 years old students who need special education.

     

    The Project is coordinated by Gazi University with the partners Osmaniye İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü Provincial Directorate of National Education, Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Eğitim ve Araştırma Merkezi, International Association for Research and Development of Vocational Education and Training,  ZGURA-M Ltd., Universitatea Tehnica Gheorghe Asachi Din Iasi.

     

    The outstanding objectives of the Project are;

      -Developing novel youth peer mentoring framework which will be used by youth workers to train youth peer mentors to support peers with disabilities

    -Developing training tools and a mobile app for implementation of distance guidance for youth mentors and youth mentee with disabilities

     

    Project partner coordinators Mılla KATIK and Medine GÜNEY informed the participants about the project and the role and the responsibilities of Osmaniye İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü as a partner in this Project.

  • The first National Advisory Board meeting in Turkey was held on 15th March 2018

    My Peer Mentor project first National Advisory Board meeting was held in Ankara with Turkish partners.

    Advisory Board Members from REDVET (in Istanbul) and OMEM (in Osmaniye) attended the meeting via skype.

  • My Peer Mentor project were presented during the multiplier event  entitled “Different and unique but together in one classroom” in Bulgaria

    My Peer Mentor project were presented during the multiplier event  entitled “Different and unique but together in one classroom” organized by National Association of Professionals Working with People with Disabilities (NARHU) on 17th March 2018 at Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

  • TUIasi team participated at the “Job Shop” National Career Event on 16-21 March 2018 in Iasi, Romania

    TUIasi team participated at the “Job Shop” National Career Event on 16-21 March 2018 in Iasi, Romania. The event was attended by more than 500 people (representatives from NGOs, SMEs, youth associations, students, etc.).

     

    The team from Romania presented to the event participants information about the My Peer Mentor project, indicating the objectives, the achievements and the expected impact. Also, discussions with 11 corporate entities from Romania ("Best" Students Association, AIESEC Association, Coca-Cola Romania, Adecco Romania, S.C. Preh Romania S.R.L., E-ON Romania, BMT Aerospace Romania S.R.L., SCC Romania, Assystem Technologies Romania, Arcelor Mital Galati, Ecolab Romania) that employ young people (with or without physical disabilities)were held, to inform them about the My Peer Mentor project and to find ways of cooperating for future activities.

  • Our project was presented during the technical workshop that was held in technical vocational school “Apostol Arnaudov”

    My Peer Mentor project was presented during the workshop organized by National Association of Professionals Working with People with Disabilities (NARHU) held in technical vocational school “Apostol Arnaudov” on 22th March 2018 at Ruse, Bulgaria.

  • Hacettepe University, Faculty of Health Science, Occupational Therapy Department were visited on 26th March 2018

    CASGEM presented My Peer Mentor Project to the coordinator of the department, Prof. Dr. Hülya KAYIHAN and her team. The Hacettepe University – Faculty of Health Science, Occupational Therapy Department is the beneficiary of the “Technical Assistance for Increasing the Employability of People with Disabilities”; the project is co-financed by the EU and the Republic of Turkey. The overall objective of their project is to increase working capacity, motivation, productivity, job search skills and social skills of the PwD to increase their employability and facilitate their access to labour market. In the meeting collaboration between institutions were discussed.

  • My Peer Mentor project presented at "International Congress On Early Intervention and Rehabilitation (UCER-2018)" on 30th March 2018

    International Congress On Early Intervention and Rehabilitation (UCER-2018) was organized on 30 March – 1 April 2018 in Antalya, Turkey.

    My Peer Mentor project dissemination was done with banner, flyer distribution and oral presentation.

  • My Peer Mentor project orally presented at Special Education Days in on 4th April 2018 at Istanbul, Turkey

    REDVET Team attended the Special Education Days in Maltepe district of Istanbul. They talked with special education teachers and academicians from educational programs of 4 universities during the breaks. They informed them about My Peer Mentor project.

     

  • Second transnational partners meeting was organized in Sofia, Bulgaria

    The second transnational partners meeting for Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Youth Project “Mobile youth peer mentoring application to facilitate distance mentoring guidance for youth with disabilities” was organized on 16-17 April in Sofia Bulgaria by the host partner Zgura-M.

     

    All partners participated actively in all sessions, adding value to the pre-set agenda.

     

    The host partner Zgura-M welcomed both the project and mobility participants from Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey.  After a brief introduction by the project coordinator Prof. Dr. Seyhan Firat, mobility participants proceeded with their own agenda, while partners started the project meeting.

  • The first blended mobility of youth was organized in Sofia, Bulgaria

    The first blended mobility for Erasmus+ Strategic partnership youth project “Mobile youth peer mentoring application to facilitate distance mentoring guidance for youth with disabilities” Project number: 2017-1-TR01-KA205-039752, took place on 15-19 April 2018, in Sofia, Bulgaria.

     

    Following activities were organized:

    • “Let’s get to know each other” session for networking and introduction of mobility participants and project partners.

    • Common welcome dinner attended by all participants.

     

    The second day started with joint session with My Peer Mentor project partners where the mobility program and organizational issues were presented.

    Next, following sessions took place:

    • First training workshop on strategy for conducting mentoring sessions guide developed within My Peer Mentor project, topics: presentation of the guide and training work shop on planning and implementation of peer mentoring program lead by Petya Grudeva (Zgura-M)

    • Second workshop on  presentation of ABLE Mentor initiative, topics: presentation of mentoring programs for youth conducted within the initiative and storytelling shared by young mentors and mentees lead by Nikolay Nikolov (ABLE Mentor)

    • Visiting the VIIth International Fair of social enterprises, topics: visits to the stands of social enterprises and youth NGOs and attending the official opening ceremony of the Fair- officials from the Bulgarian Government.

     

    The third day had also a busy agenda:

    • A visit to The World of Maria’s occupational centre for youth with intellectual disabilities, topics: presentation of the activities of the centre and visits to the occupational workshops, lead by Miryana Malamin-Siriyski (The World of Maria).

    • Visit to the Bread Houses Network Bulgaria, topics: presentation of the Bread Houses Network Bulgaria activities and thematic workshop on bread kneading dedicated to “Being a mentor- personal attributes and qualities”, lead by Sandra Topalska (Bread Houses Network Bulgaria).

    • The taste of our countries, topics: Inter-cultural exchange –each participant to bring traditional food, drink, music to illustrate the “taste” of the home country.

     

    The fourth day had an equally interesting agenda;:

    • The 4th day started with the Third workshop on presentation of Voluntary Unit – Sofia activities, topics: presentation of disaster and crisis management program conducted by young volunteers and initiatives for involvement of young disadvantaged people, lead by Yasev Tsvetkov (Voluntary Unit – Sofia), lead by Iva Krustanova (The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award).

    • Visit to The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, topics: presentation of the mentoring program and other activities for youth conducted by the awarded Bulgarian young people and personal story telling by young mentors and mentees.

     

    The fifth and last day of the mobility program was finalized by a tour in Sofia that focused on the urban accessibility of people with disabilities.

    The mobility concluded with a certification awarding ceremony was done by participating by all mobilities.

     

  • REDVET Team visited NGOs working for physically disabled young people to inform them about My Peer Mentor project in Istanbul

    REDVET (International Association for Research and Development of Vocational Education and Training) has started visits to NGOs working for physically disabled young people to inform them about "My Peer Mentor" project and to discuss cooperation means for forthcoming activities.

     

    First visit has been hold to project room of Üsküdar Regional Governorship in Istanbul. Mr.Onur Cantimur has accepted the courtesy visit of REDVET team and share their experience with disabled people in the region. Both sides were one mind about importance of disabled people's employment and tackling with obstacles ahead them.

     

    REDVET also visited Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Family and Social Policies.  Mr.Halis Kuralay who is one of the vice directors has accepted REDVET. Mr.Kuralay is very prominent person in Turkey for his works related to people with disability. Thanks to his background that he can contribute for developing content of the project and activities.

  • My Peer Mentor project presented during international conference “VET as a first choice”

    On 24-25.April ZGURA-M team took part in international conference organized by Ministry of Education within the Bulgarian Presidency of EU.

    The project was shortly presented in the second day in front of more than 200 hundred participants from various European countries.

  • TUIasi team participated International Conference of the SEA events on 27-28 April 2018

    The Romanian team participated at the SEA 14 International Conference - “Advances in Science, Innovation and Management”organized by Romanian Foundation for Business Intelligence, Romanian Academy (Iasi Branch) and “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi.

     

    The event took place on 27 – 28 April2018, in Iasi, Romania. The symposium was attended by over 100 people (academics, researchers, students, corporate entities, etc.).The team from Romania presented information about the My Peer Mentor project, indicating the objectives, target achievement and the expected impact.

  • Finance Union was visited by CASGEM Project Team

    My Peer Mentor Project was introduced to managers and women committee of Finance Union. Detailed information was provided about future mentoring activities for young people with disabilities on 02.05.2018.

  • The second National Advisory Board meeting was held in Romania on 04.05.2018

    The second National Advisory Board (NAB) meeting in Romania of My Peer Mentor project was held in Iasi on 4May 2018 at "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi. At this event over 60 guests attended (team of P6 partner, students, local authorities and representatives of NGOs, youth training centers, etc.). Some of the National Advisory Board members attended the meeting via Skype. At the meeting the project achievements (IO and Dissemination results) obtained between 01.09.2017 - 30.04.2018 were presented.

  • My Peer Mentor project was presented to Research and Innovation Minister of Romania Nicolae BURNETE

    On May 17, 2018 TUIasi partner team was met with Minister Nicholas Burnet, Ministry of Research and Innovation, the Government of Romania.

    During this meeting the objectives and activities of the project were presented. Also, discussions were held on ways of cooperation for future project activities.

  • TUIasi team participated “EUROINVENT” on 17-19 May 2018

    The Romanian team participated at the 10th Edition of “EUROINVENT”- European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation,organized by Romanian Inventors Forum.

    The event took place on 17-19 May 2018, in Iasi, Romania. The symposium was attended by over 1000 people (academics, researchers, students, corporate entities, etc.).The team from Romania presented information about the My Peer Mentor project, indicating the objectives, target achievement and the expected impact.

    For the quality of the promoted ideas, the My Peer Mentor project was awarded with the "Gold Medal" and "Diploma".

  • Workshop promoting My Peer Mentor project was organized in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria on 25.06.2018

    Zgura-M held event that aimed to promote My Peer Mentor project in front of the young community in VelikoTarnovo.

  • ZGURA-M presented the project during workshop for promoting cross-country collaboration among youth on 26.06.2018

    The event was held in Smolyan, Bulgaria and the participants were representatives of youth NGOs and youth clubs that are interested to work on projects in the field of employment opportunities for young people.

  • The project was introduced to professionals working on youth initiatives on 29.06.2018

    My Peer Mentor project was shortly introduced during workshop dedicated to social entrepreneurship for youth. The event was held in Plovdiv and was attended by key experts who run projects for young people.

  • My Peer Mentor Project Team visited Osmaniye Korkutata University Child Care and Youth Services Department

    Project Coordinator Medine GUNEY from Osmaniye Provincial Directorate  of National Education visited Celil ATASEVER ,academic teaching assistant at Osmaniye Korkutata University Child Care and Youth Services Department Child Development Program and also the founder and the consultant of University Student Club  Genç-İz. Medine GUNEY informed the consultant , Celil ATASEVER, about the details of the Project and the opportunities for club members to provide their youth with professional and personal development.

  • My Peer Mentor Project Team visited Osmaniye Labor and Employment Agency Provincial Directorate

    Within the frame work of dissemination activities of the Erasmus + Youth Strategic Partnership Project My Peer Mentor Milla KATIK and R&D unit expert Medine GUNEY visited Osmaniye Labor and Employment Agency Provincial Director Ahmet ALTUNKAYNAK at his office on 21st June 2018. They provided detailed information about the Project and informed about the opportunities that the Project could provide to its employees on their Professional and personal development.

  • Informal presentations of My Peer Mentor project during meetings with Romanian students

    Informal presentations of My Peer Mentor project were done by TUIasi partner team during meetings with Romanian students from universities and schools in Iasi, Romania. In the period November 2017 - June 2018 were conducted 21 meetings with over 2000 young people (students and pupils) in Iasi, where the objectives and activities of the project were presented.

  • My Peer Mentor Project Team visited Osmaniye Youth Services and Sports Directorate

    Project coordinators Milla KATIK and Medine GUNEY from Osmaniye Provincial Directorate of National Education visited Mustafa LOĞOĞLU, Osmaniye Youth Services and Sports Director, on 25 June 2018 and gave detailed information about the Project. This Project will be carried out in cooperation with the youth workers and members of Atatürk Youth Center and contribute a lot to their personal and Professional development.

    CASGEM Team introduced “My Peer Mentor Project” to Mrs. Ayşe Kardaş Ergezen-Deputy Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services of the Turkish Government.

    The third transnational partners meeting coincidence with second blended mobility of youth workers will be organized on 15-19 October 2018 in Romania by the host partner “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, ROMANIA.

  • Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) Service Unit was visited by CASGEM Team

    CASGEM Team has visited Turkish Employment Agency Çankaya Service Unit at the date 27.10.2018. At the meeting face to face mentoring activities were discussed. The activities will be held both in Çankaya Service Unit and Keçiören Business Club. Keçiören Business Club provides employment services for PwD. Cooperation was agreed for future action.
